Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is seeking a skilled Threadroll Operator at our Carson, CA facility. You will perform thread roll operations on Ti screws, run in-cell washing, and inspect parts using gages and microscopes to ensure dimensions meet specifications.

You will follow safety procedures, set up threadroll machines, read part drawings, and input SPC data. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and teamwork to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 3 years experience operating machinery.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • 2-5 years’ experience operating threadroll machinery.
  • Reading and interpreting product prints.
  • Ability to read and interpret measurement devices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thread roll operations on Ti screw product using thread rollers.
  • Perform in-cell wash, tumble, and other rolling operations as required.
  • Conduct 1st Article and in-process inspections; use gages to measure dimensions.
  • Input SPC data into computer and maintain quality records.
  • Read and interpret routers, part drawings, and specifications.
  • Follow safety policies, train entry level operators, and support improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thread roll operations on Ti screw product using Waterbury, Saspi, and Hartford thread rollers
  • Perform in-cell wash, tumble, flat roll operations and run fillet roll machines as required
  • Conduct 1st Article and in-process inspections, use gages to measure critical thread roll dimensions, input SPC data into computer
  • Ability to perform visual inspection under microscope and detect issues resulting from thread rolling process to prevent rejects / PDRs
  • Ability to follow the 3-pan system
  • Perform Lock/Out Tag/Out (LOTO)
  • Assist with training and development of entry level operators
  • Active involvement in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Follow all EHS Policies and Safety Procedures. Report all incidents immediately
  • Ability to set-up and operate Threadroll machines and familiarity with tooling
  • Ability to read measuring devices and interpret specifications and work instructions
  • Understand routers and part drawings
  • Perform dimensional inspection using QC gages and compare results to specifications
  • Check parts visually under microscope, sort parts, etc.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift/move 30 lbs. (may not exceed per EHS policies)

Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • 3 years experience operating machinery
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years’ experience operating threadroll machinery
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to set-up and operate multiple equipment types (i.e. pin heading, sleeve heading, pin rolling, band annealing, drilling and/or assembly.)
  • Ability to read and interpret product prints.
  • Ability to use inspection gages and instruments

Benefits/Salary:
