Job summary

White Cap is seeking a machinist to operate conventional, special purpose, and CNC machines including grinders, drills, and presses. The role requires maintaining a clean, safe work area and ensuring parts meet specifications.

You will document production tickets and monitor machine performance throughout shifts. Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED with 0-2 years of experience, and are able to read safety procedures and perform basic math using a tape measure.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility.
• Ability to read and understand all safety operating procedures and to use all safety features and equipment.
• Ability to use basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplying, dividing, counting and the use of tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Operates assigned machines, including resistance welding, brake presses, and mechanical power presses. Operates saws, drills, and grinders. Consistently meets production requirements.
• Maintains clean and safe work area.
• Packing finished materials into dunnage and also loading and unloading.
• Checks that the finished workpiece conforms to the specifications.
• Completes documentation correctly for process monitors and production tickets.
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions and also may fix issues that might occur during the shift.
