Job summary

Noveon Magnetics in San Marcos, TX is seeking a machining operator to prepare materials, set up machines, feed parts, inspect outputs, and maintain equipment on a semi-automated production line. You will follow procedures, ensure quality, and support daily maintenance while upholding safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and basic measurement tool experience (calipers, micrometers).

Reports to: Director of Production Engineering

A machining operator should be able to diligently follow procedures and meticulously prep material for feeding and extraction in semi-automated machining operations. We are looking for someone eager to be part of the growth and optimization of our processes, and someone who shows willingness to help with various tasks around the production floor.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Setting up machines to start a production cycle.
  • Determining the fixtures, attachments, and tools necessary to complete jobs according to specifications and mount them to machine prior to beginning cutting.
  • Feeding raw material or parts to semi-automated machines.
  • Bonding magnetic components in specific orientations to a range of substrates.
  • Inspecting parts with precision measuring tools.
  • Inspecting finished products for accuracy and uniformity to ensure product quality and uphold company reputation.
  • Performing daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks to ensure machine longevity, including but not limited to lubrication, cleaning, as well as coolant and tool replacement.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
We are looking for someone who:
  • Pays attention to detail.
  • Is self-motivated.
  • Possesses a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Has experience with use of calipers, micrometers, indicators, set up blocks as well as a variety of gauges.
  • Has a willingness to help and fill in wherever needed.
  • Is able to provide clear and concise communication across multiple platforms.
  • Possesses strong analytical, communication and computer skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening, medical physical and, if applicable, visual testing.
  • Able to move up to 50lbs.
  • Possesses manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
  • Comfortable standing for long periods of time, up to and exceeding 60 minutes.
  • Is capable of making repetitive movements including, but not limited to, sitting, squatting and walking up and down stairs.
