Job summary

Kongsberg Automotive, Hvittingfoss plant in Norway, seeks a Machining Expert to develop and improve manufacturing processes for future vehicle components. Join a Process Engineering team focused on efficiency, lead time reduction and zero defects.

You will plan and optimize processes, start-up lines, and provide technical solutions to support daily production. A B.S. in mechanical engineering, 3 years in mass production, CNC knowledge, and a class B driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering or similar.
• 3 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering within mass production.
• Knowledge of CNC controllers.
• Cutting tool knowledge for steel machining.
• Driver’s license class B (no public transportation to the plant).

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and implement manufacturing processes for new products.
• Optimize existing manufacturing processes and implement improvements in production.
• Support running production in problem solving and implementing technical solutions.
• Perform investment analysis of new machines and equipment as well as product cost calculations.
• Create/update instructions and routines for manufacturing processes.
• Start-up new production lines/ cells and support daily production.
• Prepare technical documentation, drawings, and specifications for the purchasing of machinery, equipment and tooling and support the approval of such.
• Support the production of initial samples and prototypes.
• Continues improvements of machining processes.

Our Process Engineering department is searching for a Machining expert to develop new and improve existing manufacturing processes in order to achieve optimal efficiency, minimum lead time and zero defects

Responsibilities

• As part of a Process engineering team, plan, develop and implement manufacturing processes for new products.
• Optimize existing manufacturing processes and implement improvements in production.
