Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding seeks a quality inspector to verify coatings, electronics, and assemblies against specifications. You will read blueprints, use precision measuring tools, and decide to accept, reject, or rework units to ensure process quality.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with related experience; an associate degree and certification may be preferred for certain positions. On-site work and first-shift duties apply, with no telework eligibility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience; certification may be required.
• Apprentice graduate/Associate's Degree with 1 year of related experience may be acceptable.
• Certification may be required depending on the role and division.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect in-process and completed products such as coatings, electronic units, or mechanical subsystems.
• Use measuring devices and blueprints to verify conformance to specifications.
• Accept, reject, or rework defective units; monitor quality per procedures.
• Perform line clearances after each lot to ensure materials are removed.
