SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Process Engineer, Machinery & Automation for Starship Materials Production. You will own equipment from design through vendor buyoff, installation, automation, and ramp, covering powder systems, mixers, and liquid dispensing.

The role emphasizes DOE, SPC, Six Sigma, and cross-functional collaboration with materials, quality, and design to ensure flight-grade formulations and scalable manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical/ mechanical/ materials/ manufacturing engineering.
• 3+ years hands-on powder handling, dispensing, mixers, or related production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design, procure, install, and commission powder handling and dispensing systems.
• Own mixers, liquid dispensing, and powder-to-liquid interfaces.
• Automate cells with sensors, PLC/HMI/SCADA and data logging.
• Lead capital equipment projects from vendor selection to ramp.
• Travel to vendor sites for FATs and support installations.
• Support NPIs and production ramp with documentation.
