Job summary

Warren CAT in Texas is seeking a Machine Technician I (Rebuild) to deliver high-quality repair services for heavy equipment. You will work to meet time metrics, follow safety policies, and handle paperwork and diagnostics with minimal supervision.

Ideal candidates have knowledge of engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, plus diagnostic software. A high school diploma or GED and 1–3 years of related experience are expected, with willingness to travel up to 20% and operate forklifts if needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; 1–3 years related experience and/or training.
  • Must be at least 21 to operate field vehicle.
  • May need DOT physical.
  • May require MSHA certification.
  • Flexibility for varied shifts, overtime, and on-call.
  • Must be able to obtain or possess adequate tooling to perform duties.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat rate times and re-do metrics.
  • Work safely and follow WCAT safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete related paperwork and access required databases (work orders, parts orders, safety docs) accurately.
  • Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
  • Remove/install parts, disassemble/assemble components, test/adjust assemblies; perform with minimal supervision.

The Machine Technician I (Rebuild) is responsible for providing high quality repair service on equipment, in order to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring and timely manner and to ensure maximum value for work performed.

What You'll Do
  • Complete assigned jobs and task to meet flat rate times and re-do metric.
  • Work safely and follow all WCAT safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.
  • Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
  • Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies. with minimal supervision Complete all Level I assigned training in a timely and proficient manner.
What You'll Need
  • Requires general knowledge of engines, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic systems and components.
  • General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, lap tops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment.
  • This position requires the ability to provide accurate information to management for quoting.
  • Must be able to obtain or currently possess adequate tooling to perform all assigned duties.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training.
  • Must be at least 21 to be assigned and operate field vehicle.
  • Successfully complete Work steps assessment.
  • Will be certified prior to operating a forklift and/or man lift.
  • May be required to complete DOT physical.
  • May require MSHA certification.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work, required overtime and on-call.
