Job summary

Warren CAT is seeking a Rotational Machine Technician II to perform high quality repair work on equipment, traveling for 14‑day assignments with a 14 on / 7 off rotation. The role requires hands-on diagnostics, tool usage, and adherence to safety and HARMS policies while delivering value to customers.

You will complete jobs on time, document correctly, and stay current on required training and certifications. A CDL within 90 days and flexible scheduling are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 3–5 years related experience.
• In-depth knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, and precision measuring tools.
• Able to mentor machine team members and provide quotes to management.
• Clean driving record; obtain CDL within 90 days for field work.
• May require DOT physical, MSHA certification, and air-conditioning certification.
• Willing to work varied shifts, overtime, and on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned jobs to meet flat rate times and maintain quality.
• Repair, disassemble/assemble components, and test assemblies with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose problems, recommend repairs, and verify operation after service.
• Follow safety policies, proper contamination control, and hazmat rules.
• Access databases, complete work orders, and manage parts orders accurately.
• Attend required Level I & II training and maintain required certifications.
• Operate field vehicles and maintain tooling as directed.

This position is designated as a “Rotational” position that usually works a designated rotating schedule, usually in patterns such as 14 days “on,” and 7 days “off” work. The person must travel to and lodge at the assigned work location for the duration of the 14‑day work assignment.

What You'll Do

• Complete assigned jobs and task to meet flat rate times and re‑do metric.
• Work safely and follow all WCAT safety policies and procedures.
• Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.
• Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
• Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical machine and engine repairs and adjustments.
• Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
• Apply general failure analysis and procedures to determine proper diagnosis.
• Adhere to all company policies.
• Complete all Level I & Level II assigned training in a timely and proficient manner.

What You'll Need

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience and/or training.
• In depth knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, lap tops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment.
• Ability to provide accurate information to management for quoting.
• Able to mentor Machine team members.
• Must be able to obtain or currently possess adequate tooling to perform duties.
• Clean driving record and ability to obtain CDL within 90 days of hire for field assignment.
• Must be at least 21 to be assigned and operate field vehicle.
• Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.
• Will be certified prior to operating a forklift and/or man lift.
• May be required to complete DOT physical.
• May require MSHA certification Other Skills and Abilities.
• Must be certified in air‑conditioning.
• Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work, required overtime and on call.
