Job summary

Gasbarre Products seeks a seasoned Machine Shop Supervisor to oversee a team of 30-40 machinists at the DuBois, PA facility. You will drive efficient flow, optimize setup times, and route products for maximum productivity.

Strong leadership and safety stewardship are essential as you coordinate across shifts and schedules. Applicants should have 7+ years in machining environments with formal machining training preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 7+ years of related experience.
• Machining training or trade school preferred.
• Knowledge of production routing and process flow.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all machine shop employees.
• Align workflow to support production goals.
• Oversee training improvements for staff.
• Ensure department safety compliance.
• Provide leadership and coordination between shifts, overtime, and vacations.
• Lead department meetings to review production, schedules, and orders.
• Complete employee evaluations (probationary and annual).
• Implement disciplinary actions with HR when needed.
• Determine equipment and tooling needs for the shop.
• Support cost reduction initiatives and efficiency projects.
• Coordinate with the scheduler to meet deadlines.
• Occasionally perform machinist duties (run orders, read blueprints, setup).

Job DetailsJob Location: Gasbarre - DuBois, PA 15801Job Shift: SecondGeneral Summary: Responsible for adhering to machine shop schedule for flow of product through shop floor. Improve machine run times, reduce machine setup times, and assist in product routing as required for optimum efficiency. Supervise a team of 30-40 Machinists.

Essential Job Functions:

• Supervises all machine shop employees
• Workflow output to support strategic initiatives
• Responsible for ongoing training
• Responsible for the safety of department employees
• Provides leadership and direction including coordination between shifts, overtime, and vacations
• Conducts department meeting to go over production, schedules, orders, etc.
• Completes employee evaluations (Probationary & Annual)
• Responsible for disciplinary actions (in conjunction with Human Resources)
• Determines equipment and tooling needs
• Manages cost reduction efforts
• Works closely with the scheduler to meet production goals / deadlines
• Performs regular duties of a machinist on occasion (running orders, reading blueprints, machine setup, etc.)

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED. 7+ years of related experience required. Formal schooling from a college or trade school with a relevance to machining or machining technology preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Lifting a maximum of 40 pounds regularly. This job requires extensive amounts of walking, standing, sitting.
