Job summary

Collins Aerospace is hiring a Machine Shop Manufacturing Engineer to support our long-bed machining and large-aluminum operations in Jamestown, ND. In this role you’ll combine hands-on manufacturing with engineering problem solving to drive process improvement and make an impact on shop floor performance.

This onsite role offers relocation eligibility and requires a STEM degree with 2+ years of experience, plus preferred CAD/NX modeling skills and knowledge of SAP or MRP in a manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the design and arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure more efficient and productive layout.
  • Develops manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control for compliant production.
  • Designs and develops manufacturing processes for products, including new or revised processes.
  • Develops procedures for economical mass production in cooperation with pilot-plant and production departments.
  • Conducts tests and measurements to control variables and troubleshoot production process issues.

This is an onsite role in Jamestown, ND and is eligible for relocation.

What You Will Do
  • Participates in the design and arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure more efficient and productive layout.
  • May propose the sequence of operations and installations and supports in specifying procedures for fabrication of tools and equipment and other processes which may include disassembly/assembly and repairs, to ensure efficiency and optimize performance.
  • Participates in the development of manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control to ensure compliance and effective production.
  • May check and validate that mandatory modifications, programs, and bulletins are incorporated or complied with, as required by the customer and the applicable regulatory requirements, to ensure legal compliance and adherence to quality standards.
  • Designs and develops manufacturing processes for products, taking into consideration problems inherent in the transfer of technology from research to manufacturing.
  • Such design and development may include new or revised processes.
  • Develops procedures for the economical mass production in cooperation with pilot-plant and production departments.
  • Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables; and services, troubleshoots and solves production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation.
  • Reviews field support requirements and recommends tools and test equipment.
  • Determines maintenance and repair materials required for deployment.
  • May make recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
