Job summary

Discflo Pumps in Santee, CA, is seeking a Machine Shop Lead/Setup Technician to oversee daily machine shop operations, ensuring maximum efficiency, safety, and quality. You will be the on-floor technical resource, guiding machinists, validating CNC programs, and ensuring proper tooling, fixtures, and setups.

Responsibilities include maintaining GS documentation, reducing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience operating and setting up CNC machining equipment.
• Strong understanding of CNC programming, tooling, fixturing, and machining processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience leading shop floor personnel and coordinating daily operations.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily machine shop operations and provide on-floor leadership to machinists and setup personnel.
• Verify CNC programs, review toolings and setups, and ensure documentation is complete.
• Maintain production schedules, track machine utilization, and drive productivity gains.
• Support lean initiatives, reduce downtime, and improve cycle times.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Production teams to meet goals.
