Job summary

MiTek is seeking a Manufacturing Operator in Tolleson, AZ to set up machinery, stamp dies, perform tool changes, and troubleshoot to keep production on schedule.

Candidate should have a High School diploma or GED, basic math and measurement skills, and the ability to read a tape measure. Forklift experience is a plus; overtime may be required. MiTek offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; 1–3 months related experience or training.
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers and management about work and safety issues.
  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide using measurement units including whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
  • Apply common sense to follow written or oral instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Read a tape measure.
  • Forklift experience preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to work overtime and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Set up machinery for manufacturing.
  • Set up stamping dies in presses.
  • Perform tooling changes according to schedules.
  • Troubleshoot simple tool and die issues to keep production on schedule.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required.
  • Monitor press, tooling and secondary systems for proper operation.
  • Attend shift and be prepared to work overtime as needed.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

POSITION SUMMARY:

Demonstrate proficiency with the use of automatic equipment, forklifts, and overhead cranes. Demonstrate ability to set, change, trouble shoot, and clean stamping dies. Proactively apply knowledge with improvements to equipment and processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Setup machinery for manufacturing.
  • Setup stamping dies in presses.
  • Perform tooling changes according to schedules.
  • Simple troubleshooting and tool and die repair to keep production on schedule.
  • Perform required preventative maintenance.
  • Monitor press, tooling and secondary systems for proper operation during manufacturing.
  • Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes, but is not limited to the ability to work overtime as required, be present at work, arrive on time and be at the work station ready for work at the start of the shift.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills: Effectively communicate with co-workers and management regarding work and safety issues.
  • Mathematical Skills:Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Comprehend job training and safety instructions.
  • Computer Skills: Some PC skills helpful but not required.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Read a tape measure.
  • Other Qualifications: Previous forklift experience preferred but not required.
