ONWARD SEARCH is seeking a 3rd Shift Machine Set-Up Operator (Mills and Lathes) in Sussex, WI to support a high-precision manufacturing team. This temp-to-perm role requires operating equipment, performing inspections, and maintaining quality standards on-site.

Ideal candidates have machining experience, can read blueprints and routings, and will complete production documentation while performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with setup and operation of Mills and Lathes.
• Ability to read blueprints, job travelers, and routings.
• Capable of in-process inspections with gauges and visual assessments.
• Standing for long periods and lifting up to ~40 lbs.
• Reliable attendance and stable work history.

Responsibilities

• Operate mill and lathe machines to produce parts according to procedures.
• Set up and adjust machinery for production runs, ensuring accuracy and repeatability.
• Perform in-process quality checks using gauges and visual inspections.
• Complete and maintain production documentation, labels, and forms accurately.

Machine Set-Up Operator Qualifications:

• Prior experience with setup and operation of Mills and Lathes, or relevant machining background.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and routings.
• Capable of performing in-process inspections with gauges and visual assessments.
• Standing for long periods and lifting up to approximately 40 lbs is required.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic with minimal job changes in recent years.
