Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking a Machine Set-Up/Operator to couple setup and operation of CNC machines in the Machine Shop with a strong emphasis on part quality.

You will interpret blueprints, edit programs as needed, and maintain a safe, organized work environment while meeting production goals.

Qualifications

• Set up and operate CNC machines to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Edit CNC programs as needed to correct issues and optimize outputs.
• Interpret drawings, specifications and tooling instructions to ensure part conformity.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow health and safety rules.

Job Description

Summary: As a Machine Set-Up/Operator, you will be required to set up and operate all machines located in the Machine Shop. You will be responsible for the quality of your own work.

Qualifications

• Perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to setting up Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines and operating them at specified production levels maintaining quality standards at all times.
• Provide feedback and take corrective action whenever conditions exist preventing achieving quality, performance and production standards.
• Perform assigned duties with minimal supervision.
• Acquire proficiency in maintaining quality/production standards in one job function for which you are trained.
• Maintain a clean, uncluttered, and safe work environment observing and practicing high standards of health and safety, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment.
• Maintain a good attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be mechanically inclined with good basic mechanical skills.
• Ability to interpret CNC programs and edit them as needed.
• Knowledgeable with calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators.
• Knowledgeable with engineering prints and specifications.
• Ability to chart dimensions on machine shop forms.
• Able to read gauges and other instruments.
• Ability to read blueprint drawings.

Compensation
