Job summary

PAC Worldwide seeks a Machine Packer in Bethlehem to pack products off machines into cartons per customer specs, ensuring safety and quality. The role requires operating packaging equipment, labeling, and maintaining clean work areas.

Shifts are 12 hours (7am–7pm) with a rotation. A High School diploma is preferred, and manufacturing experience is a plus. OT may be needed, and safety rules must be followed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to read work instructions and safety rules.
  • Must be able to read a ruler and operate a calculator.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain good attendance.
  • At least six (6) months of manufacturing work history desired.

Responsibilities

  • Pack product off machine per stacking diagrams and into cartons.
  • Ensure cartons are labeled and quantities are correct.
  • Identify defects and stop machinery if defects are not corrected.
  • Maintain a pace to keep up with machine throughput and keep area clean.
  • Operate case sealing machines and assist teammates as needed.
  • Overtime and 12-hour shifts may be required.
  • Follow safety rules and use E-stops when necessary.

Description

A Machine Packer packs products off machine and into cartons or containers according to customer specifications in a manufacturing facility. The machine packer ensures safety, quality, and production standards are met or exceeded.

12 hours, 7am-7pm, rotation schedule (2,2,3)

$16.65 per hour plus $2.10 shift differential

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Pack product off machine per orientation on stacking diagrams.
  • Pack product into cartons without deforming the product.
  • Ensure the carton quantity is correct, and every carton is labeled appropriately.
  • Measure and test product. Identify defects in product and notify operator, making sure to stop machinery when defects are not corrected.
  • Maintain a pace that keeps up with machine throughput capabilities.
  • Remove start-ups and screen for defects.
  • Inspect and properly clear bag overflow area.
  • Complete required quality checks by following the procedure required to complete the checks.
  • Must understand how to operate E-stops and could identify safety sensitive situations that would require use of an E-stop (add lockout/tagout).
  • Properly set up and operate case sealing machine(s).
  • Assist machine operator and other team members as needed (including, but not limited to, stacking cartons, screening bags, cleaning work area, and assisting nearby packers when assigned machine is down).
  • Practice safe work and personal behavior with regards to equipment and task, including reporting near misses and use of first aid.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area ensuring any instances of poor housekeeping are addressed and fixed quickly.
  • Must become fully proficient in packing, at a minimum, one core product type based on company standards, with the flexibility to move to different machinery (when requested).
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed (based on production and department needs).
  • Position may require the ability to work up to 12-hour shifts.
  • Other related duties may be assigned as necessary.
