Job summary

Peoplelink Staffing in Warsaw, IN is seeking a Machine Packaging operator for 1st shift on a contract-to-hire basis. You will set up and operate tools, study work orders, secure parts, start machines, and monitor quality.

The role requires following safety protocols and instructions, with emphasis on manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 45 pounds. This position supports a manufacturing environment, with on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

• Previous machine operation experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• On-the-job training provided by the department.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts.
• Study work orders and other specifications to ensure proper setup sequence.
• Place and secure workpieces using clamps and wrenches.
• Prepare fixtures and feeding devices, start machine, and engage feed.
• Observe machines to verify quality performance.
• Verify measuring instruments are in proper working order.
• Set and adjust controls to regulate machines.
• Report issues to supervisor or higher-level employee.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Light Industrial & Manufacturing Warsaw , IN Contract to Hire Oct 7, 2026

Primary Job Duties:

• Sets up and operates tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts.
• Studies work orders, and other specifications to ensure the proper setup sequence is followed.
• Places and secures workpieces in proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches.
• Prepares fixtures and feeding devices, starts machine, and engages feed.
• Observes each machine to verify quality performance.
• Verifies measuring instruments such as gauges, torque wrenches are in proper working order.
• Sets and adjusts necessary controls to regulate machines.
• Reports any issues to supervisor or higher-level employee.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Thorough understanding of mechanics and other properties of machines.
• Ability to follow written instructions, diagrams.
• Ability to follow proper safety protocols.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
• Ability to work in a variety of roles.

Education and Experience:

• Previous machine operation experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Job training for this position is provided by the department.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at times.
• Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant
