Job summary

GTI Fabrication in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Working Lead to manage day-to-day team operations in welding and fabrication, serving as the SME on the shop floor and the first point of contact for employees. You will communicate project status and needs to leadership at day’s end and drive performance with precision.

Responsibilities include shaping department processes, collaborating with QA, ensuring proper manufacturing methodology, and guiding staff to meet deadlines while maintaining safety

Qualifications

• Two to four years related welding/fabrication experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating direct reports.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
• Versatility and flexibility with changing priorities.

Overview

The Working Lead for our team is responsible for performing and carrying out the day-to-day responsibilities of their team. This position is to serve as the subject matter expert on the work being performed on the team and is the first point of contact for the employees on the work they are assigned for the day. The Working Lead will directly interface with leadership members as to the status of projects at the end of each day, and effectively communicate any needs identified by their team.

Job Responsibilities

• Interfaces with QA manager to ensure highest degree of final quality and develop new and better quality methods.
• Ensures approved manufacturing methodology is being followed.
• Develops and communicates goals and key initiatives to improve plant performance and success.

• Maintains knowledge of machine capacity and develops solutions for efficient utilization.
• Ensures all safety rules and regulations are followed; investigates accidents in a timely, accurate, and complete manner.
• Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
• Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
• Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
• Directly supervise employees assigned to their department and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Two to four years related welding/fabrication experience
