Job summary

TS Conductor in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a Machine Operator to set up, operate, and maintain production machinery. You will work on both an individual and team basis to meet quality and production standards, and report data on output, settings, and quality metrics.

Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, in-process inspections, safety compliance, and adherence to training and company rules. The role requires standing for long periods and the ability to work overtime when needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to stand 8-10 hour shifts and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Able to pass e-Verify background check.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare machinery for operation and conduct safety checks.
  • Set up and operate production machines per procedures.
  • Monitor machines to ensure quality output.
  • Conduct in-process inspections to verify quality.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and adjust as needed.
  • Record production numbers, settings, and quality data.
  • Follow PPE and safety protocols and company rules.

Position Overview

A machine operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machinery used in the manufacturing process. Machine operators will work on an individual and team basis. Machine operators will deliver consistent work and report accurate information on a timely basis. To be successful in this position the individual must be able to produce timely and high-quality output within the company quality and production run standards. Individuals must display a standard level of productivity and quality output and be committed to continuous improvement.

Essential Functions
  • Prepare machinery for operation by performing routine maintenance tasks and conducting safety checks to ensure that the equipment is in good working condition.
  • Set up and operate production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Monitor machines during operation to ensure that they are producing products that meet quality standards.
  • Conduct regular in-process inspections to ensure quality control standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and make necessary adjustments to fix any issues that arise during the production process.
  • Record data such as production numbers, machine settings, and product quality data.
  • Follow safety protocols and adhere to the proper use of PPE to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and other employees.
  • Consistently meet production requirements.
  • Continuously work in a safe manner and maintain a safe and clean work area.
  • Follow company rules and guidelines.
  • Comply with cross-training and other training requirements.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Other Skills/Abilities

To be successful as a machine operator, candidates should have a good understanding of manufacturing processes, be mechanically inclined, and possess a strong attention to detail. They should also be able to read and interpret work instructions and can work independently as well as part of a team. Other skills and abilities include:

  • Physical stamina and dexterity are also important qualities as the job involves standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to speak and read English effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret gauges and record measurements.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets), operating and maintenance instructions, and any relevant manuals.
  • Ability to stand for an 8–10-hour shift.
  • Prior experience preferred, but not required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management capabilities.
