Job summary

Refresco is a leading global beverage solutions provider with production facilities in North America. This Kansas-based role supports high-speed beverage production, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency to ensure our products reach customers on time.

As a team member, you will follow GMPs, operate equipment, record production data, and collaborate across departments to reduce waste and maintain a safe, productive environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a high-speed beverage production environment.
  • Ability to gain understanding of production machinery and recognize issues.
  • Work quickly and accurately under pressure.
  • Basic mathematical ability.
  • Interpret gauges, thermometers, and weight measurements.
  • WHMIS/HACCP or hygiene training preferred.
  • Forklift certification may be required.
  • Troubleshoot machinery and production issues with teams.
  • Collaborate with others to hit targets and maintain safety.
  • Record production data accurately and keep organized records.
  • Follow safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to health and safety policies and wear PPE in warehouse or production areas.
  • Maintain food quality and safety per corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Read, understand, and follow a production schedule and communicate issues.
  • Maintain production flow by supplying materials and minor servicing.
  • Follow QA and production SOPs.
  • Perform equipment changeovers; read imperial and metric measurements.
  • Record all necessary information for production and quality records.
  • Sanitation of work area and equipment as directed.
  • Collaborate with departments to improve quality and reduce waste.
  • Identify production or machine issues based on cues.
  • Perform minor maintenance and assist with cross-training.
  • Handle inventory and participate in general plant duties.

Essential Job Functions
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies, procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas.
  • Maintain food quality and safety as per the standard(s) provided by corporate, customer, and/or governing bodies (e.g., SQF).
  • Read, understand, and adhere to a production manufacturing schedule and communicate issues or deviations with the appropriate parties.
  • Maintain production flow on machinery by monitoring downstream and upstream issues, supplying raw materials to the equipment, and performing minor servicing when needed.
  • Follow all Quality Assurance and Production line standard operating procedures.
  • Perform equipment changeovers; read imperial and metric measurements.
  • Record all necessary information for production and quality records. Keep accurate downtime reports and documentation.
  • Perform equipment and general sanitation in your work area or as assigned by leadership.
  • Work closely with all departments to improve quality, increase efficiencies, and reduce waste.
  • Understand visual and auditory cues to identify production or machine related issues.
  • Perform minor machine maintenance.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by leadership including, but not limited to, cross training, general plant sanitation, inventory management, and training.
Required Skills
  • Experience in a high-speed beverage production environment; beverage production experience preferred.
  • Ability to gain a firm understanding of production machinery/forklifts and recognize technical issues.
  • Work quickly and accurately under pressure.
  • Basic mathematical ability.
  • Interpret gauges, thermometers, and weight measurements.
  • Formal training in WHMIS, HACCP, hygiene, etc. preferred.
  • Forklift certification may be required.
  • Problem‑solving skills – troubleshoot machinery and production issues efficiently, collaborating with others.
  • Teamwork – collaborate with coworkers to achieve production targets and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Documentation skills – accurate recording of production data and maintenance of organized records.
  • Safety awareness – knowledge of safety protocols, hazard identification, and adherence to regulations.
  • Communication skills – effective verbal and written communication with team members and supervisors; report issues accurately.
Education and Experience
  • High School certification or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Work schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evenings, overnight, and holidays may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.
  • Work environment: Fast‑paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise requires hearing protection; temperatures can be very hot or relatively cold. The environment is structured and supervised, with clear production targets and schedules to meet.

  • 0% travel anticipated.
Physical Requirements

  • Stand for extended periods.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl briefly.
