Job summary

Quikrete Hardscapes and Masonry is seeking a Machine Operator Trainee to learn operating heavy manufacturing equipment, perform quality checks, and assist with routine maintenance. You will receive hands-on training in setup, calibration, and process monitoring while working under the Plant Supervisor's guidance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in manufacturing or similar industry.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, power transmission, pneumatic and control systems.
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced setting.
• Comfortable operating industrial machinery and wearing PPE.

Responsibilities

• Operate sophisticated and computerized heavy manufacturing equipment.
• Ensure equipment and tools are used according to manufacturer’s specifications.
• Take measurements throughout the shift to monitor process and quality.
• Perform machine set-up and maintenance and keep machines clean.
• Operate a forklift as needed and report to Plant Supervisor.

About the Role

Responsibilities:

• Operate sophisticated and computerized heavy manufacturing equipment
• Ensure equipment and tools are used according to manufacturer’s specifications
• Take a variety of measurements throughout the shift to monitor the process and ensure quality
• Perform machine set-up and maintenance as needed according to specifications as well as clean the machines as needed throughout the shift
• Operate a forklift as needed
• Report to Plant Supervisor

About You

We Require:

• Must have at least 1-year of manufacturing experience
• Show strong mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills
• Have knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, power transmission, pneumatic, and control systems
• Must show past ability to work independently and with a team
• Must be able to operate and work around industrial machinery
• Must be able to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, and all other PPE as required
• Must be able to work with others with limited supervision
• Must be able to take direction in a manufacturing environment with ever changing demands
