Job summary

The Kraft Heinz Company at the Granite City Capri Sun plant is seeking a production operator to start at $23.00/hour, rising to $24.00/hour after qualification and about $25.63/hour for permanent employment. This temp-to-hire role focuses on operating and monitoring primary production equipment to ensure safe, efficient beverage manufacturing.

Responsibilities include running line machinery, quality checks, maintenance, data logging, GMP compliance, and collaboration with peers to hit daily

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ year experience operating manufacturing machinery in a food or beverage environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting.
• Ability to read operating instructions, safety manuals, and quality documents.
• Stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive tasks.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

• Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet daily targets.
• Adhere to safety policies, wear PPE, and assist with material handling as needed.
• Notify supervisors of equipment malfunctions or safety/quality issues.

• After Qualification/Card Certification: $24.00/hour
• Permanent Employment Rate: Approximately $25.63/hour
• Temp-to-hire opportunity with a pathway to permanent employment after completion of prohibitionary period of 600 hours.

Operate and monitor primary production machinery and equipment at Capri Sun, Inc., ensuring efficient and safe manufacturing processes to produce high-quality Capri Sun beverages.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and adjust primary production line machinery and equipment, including fillers, cappers, and packaging machines, in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Conduct regular quality checks on products, materials, and equipment to identify and resolve any deviations from specifications.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks and minor troubleshooting on assigned equipment to minimize downtime.
• Document production data, including output, downtime, and quality control results, accurately and completely.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards.
• Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth production flow and achieve daily targets.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Assist with material handling, loading, and unloading as required.
• Communicate any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality issues to the appropriate personnel promptly.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Prior experience (1+ year preferred) operating manufacturing machinery in a food or beverage production environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic equipment troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret operating instructions, safety manuals, and quality control documents.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Willingness to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• Knowledge of GMP and food safety principles is a plus.
