Summary
Candidates may be considered for one of the following roles: Packaging Operator and Processing Operator.
Packaging Operator Responsibilities
- Set up the lines at the beginning of the shift.
- Fill out the First Perfect Piece (document specifications completion).
- Perform CCP & CQP – metal detector checks.
- Monitor weights of products.
- Determine when and how to shut down lines.
- Handle routine duties including zipper change, film change, and corrugate material to pack.
- Troubleshoot issues with knives, scales, weights, jams, tape machines, and censors.
- Train new packers and material handlers.
- Monitor and track productivity through accurate documentation.
- Identify opportunities to maximize line effectiveness, e.g., speed up lines.
- Handle paperwork associated with consumptions.
- Follow all GMP rules and regulations.
- Assist in all positions and jobs involved in the line as needed or directed by management.
- Perform allergen cleans.
- Perform tool changes.
- Clean lines and production floor as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Processing Operator Responsibilities
- Set up the Enrobing lines.
- Temper the Enrobing lines.
- Manage the speed and quality of the lines.
- Understand the components of different products (nuts, caramel, chocolate, pretzels).
- Manage chocolate temperature readings.
- Make proper adjustments to the lines as needed.
- Assemble and disassemble water belts, conveyors, and pumps.
- Perform filter changes.
- Identify root causes for clogs, frozen lines, leaks, and build‑up.
- Heat up piping.
- Monitor production on the Dry End.
- Recommend suggestions for improvement.
- Read, understand, and follow all customer specifications.
- Perform changeovers.
- Clean lines and perform full allergen cleans.
- Effectively train new or current team members.
- Monitor and track productivity/quality and seek opportunities to maximize line effectiveness.
- Monitor and control weights of products.
- Manage paperwork associated with consumptions.
- Follow and ensure all GMP rules and regulations on the lines.
- Assist in all positions involved in the line as needed or directed by management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Skills & Experience
- 6 months of manufacturing experience for Packaging Operators.
- 1 year of manufacturing experience for Processing Operators.
- Ability to read and understand customer specifications.
- Basic math skills.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
Additional Job Details
Base starting rate ranges from $22.00 to $23.50 per hour. The base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
