Summary: Set up and operate stretch press machine to bend and form metal as specified by work order, blueprints drawing, or layout.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and positive working environment
- Sets stops on machine bed, changes dies, and adjusts components.
- Operates stretch press according to specifications.
- Selects and positions flat, block, radius, or special purpose die sets into ram and bed of machine, using hoist, crane, measuring instruments, and hand tools.
- Installs, aligns, and secures gears, holding fixtures, dies to machine bed, using gauges, and/or templates, and hand tools.
- Inspects workpiece for defects.
- Lifts, positions, and secures workpiece between dies of machine using crane.
- Lubricates stretch press.
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, machine operation, fabrication, or aerospace experience.
- Previous experience operating a stretch press or similar forming equipment.
- Experience working with aluminum sheet metal or other aerospace materials.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and quality practices.
- Previous experience working from aerospace specifications or customer requirements.

- Ability to read and understand work instructions, blueprints, drawings, and specifications in English.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and accurately interpret measurements.
- Ability to use basic measuring tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
- Ability to safely operate machinery and hand tools.
- Ability to recognize defects, dimensional issues, and other quality concerns.
- Ability to accurately complete production and quality documentation.
- Ability to follow established safety procedures, work instructions, and production schedules.
