Job summary

Novolex is hiring a Machine Operator for Small Mills in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role offers a Monday–Friday shift, $28.94+ hourly pay, and climate-controlled conditions. You will set up and operate manual mills, drills, hones, and grinders to produce precision parts.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED and 2-year CNC Machining training or 3–5 years experience; WorkKeys Silver is preferred. Benefits are provided and training is available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2-year A.A.S. Degree – CNC Machining Technology or 3-5 years of CNC Machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• WorkKeys Certification: National Career Readiness Certificate (Silver) preferred.
• Experience operating manual mills, drill presses, radial drills, hones, and Blanchard grinders preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates manual equipment including mill, drill press, radial drill, hone, and Blanchard grinder to machine parts to specifications.
• Observe machine operations and verify accuracy using precision measurement tools.

Job Description:

Sets up and operates a variety of manual equipment that a machinist would use. The equipment that the individual will use includes the following: manual vertical mill, drill press, radial drill, hone, and Blanchard grinder. The successful candidate is responsible to use this equipment to machine parts to specifications. They will observe machine operations and verify accuracy of machine work pieces by use of a variety of precision measurement tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2-year A.A.S. Degree – CNC Machining Technology or 3-5 years of CNC Machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• WorkKeys Certification: National Career Readiness Certificate (Silver Certificate Level or higher), preferred.
• Experience operating manual mills, drill presses, radial drills, hones, and Blanchard grinders, preferred.
