Job summary

Novolex in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Machine Operator for Small Mills. The role involves setting up and operating manual milling equipment to machine parts to exact specifications and verifying accuracy with precision measurement tools.

The position offers a Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm shift in a climate-controlled environment, with pay incentives based on experience and tenure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2-year A.A.S. Degree - CNC Machining Technology or 3-5 years of CNC Machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• WorkKeys Certification: National Career Readiness Certificate (Silver Certificate Level or higher), preferred.
• Experience operating manual mills, drill presses, radial drills, hones, and Blanchard grinders, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates a variety of manual equipment including mill, drill press, radial drill, hone, and Blanchard grinder.
• Machine parts to specifications and verify accuracy using precision measurement tools.

Job Description:

Sets up and operates a variety of manual equipment that a machinist would use. The equipment that the individual will use includes the following: manual vertical mill, drill press, radial drill, hone, and Blanchard grinder. The successful candidate is responsible to use this equipment to machine parts to specifications. They will observe machine operations and verify accuracy of machine work pieces by use of a variety of precision measurement tools.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2-year A.A.S. Degree - CNC Machining Technology or 3-5 years of CNC Machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
