Job summary

Novolex in Cedar Rapids is hiring a Sheet Metal Operator for a Monday–Friday day shift (7:00 am–3:30 pm) in a climate-controlled environment. The role offers a growing pay ladder starting at $28.94 per hour with increases at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months, and a benefits package focused on health and well-being.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of sheet metal fabrication experience, can read blueprints, and is comfortable operating NC Laser equipment and related tools to fabricate and assemble parts

Qualifications

• 1-3 years sheet metal fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operates NC Laser.
• Fabricates sheet metal per orders, blueprints, or diagrams.
• Bends, cuts or alters sheet metal per product and specs.
• Sets up and operates shears, brakes, benders, rolls and t-drills.
• Inspects, assembles, and adjusts equipment to meet specifications.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Operates NC Laser.


• Fabricates sheet metal products and equipment accordance to job orders, blueprints and/or schematic diagrams.


• Bends, cuts or alters various grades of sheet metal according to product being fabricated and knowledge of sheet metal.


• Sets up and operates shears, brakes, benders, rolls and t-drills.


• Inspects, assembles, and adjusts equipment to ensure conformance with specifications.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years sheet metal fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
