Job summary

Red River Commodities, Inc. is seeking a diligent Machine Operator – Roaster in Horace, ND. This full-time, on-site role operates large roasting equipment for sunflower seeds, maintaining target temperatures and batch quality while meeting throughput goals.

You will monitor equipment, perform routine checks, log production data, and cooperate with maintenance and QA teams to resolve issues. Overtime and weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing or operating large industrial equipment is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret production schedules and technical documents.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

• Operate and monitor industrial roasters, conveyors, and related equipment for sunflower seed processing.
• Set and adjust roasting parameters (temperature, time, airflow) according to product specifications.
• Perform routine quality checks including moisture, roast color, and texture.
• Record production data and maintain logs for roasting batches.
• Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections and report issues.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work area per food safety standards.
• Collaborate with maintenance and QA teams to resolve issues promptly.
• Follow safety protocols and wear PPE at all times.
• Assist training of new operators as needed.

Position Summary

The Machine OperatorRoaster is responsible for the safe, efficient, and consistent operation of large industrial roasting equipment used in the processing of sunflower seeds. This role ensures that roasting parameters are met to achieve product quality standards while maintaining optimal throughput and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Overtime, weekend, holiday, or varying shift work may be required based on production schedules.
