Job summary

The Sheridan Group is seeking an Assistant Print Production Technician (Rolltender) to join our press team in a hands-on role. You will be trained to operate offset presses, set up jobs, install plates, and adjust color for quality finished materials.

We offer 12-hour day shifts, Monday, Thursday, Friday on week 1; Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday on week 2, with overtime opportunities and long-term career potential in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Reads job instructions and prepares the press for each project.
• Sets up and operates single- and multi-color offset printing presses.
• Installs printing plates, adjusts registration, and prepares the press for production.
• Makes color and quality adjustments to ensure jobs meet standards.
• Monitors equipment during production and troubleshoots minor issues.
• Performs routine cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs on presses.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

• Has a high school diploma or GED.
• Can read a tape measure and perform basic math, including working with fractions and decimals.
• Has mechanical aptitude and enjoys working with equipment.
• Pays close attention to detail and takes pride in producing quality work.
• Can read and follow job specifications and make equipment adjustments as needed.
• Works well with others and has a positive attitude.

Bonus Points If You Have

Experience with Offset printing operations.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on role that includes:

• Standing for long periods
• Frequently using your hands to operate equipment
• Occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds
• Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with moving equipment and varying noise levels.
• Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection and safety footwear.
