Job summary

IPG in Chicago seeks an experienced Manufacturing Operator to operate pouch machinery and produce bubble pouches, ensuring quality and on-time output.

Ideal candidates will have manufacturing experience, ability to stand long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a space-constrained environment while maintaining safety and accuracy. IPG offers competitive pay and strong team culture.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 2+ years in a manufacturing environment or as a machine operator.
• Intermediate math skills and English written communication.
• Ability to stand and walk up to 12 hours.
• Ability to work in a space-limited area on a continuous basis.
• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs.
• General computer knowledge and paperwork handling.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Inventory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and troubleshoot equipment and processes.
• Ensure first offs are completed per technical specifications.
• Ensure changeover is completed as per standard.
• Ensure equipment and set-up parameters are established, followed, and improved.
• Coaching and mentoring of assistants and helpers by providing clear and precise instructions, if assigned
• Ensure materials required for changeover are available and secured prior to set-ups.
• Ensure product is packed and identified as per specifications.
• Ensure accurate inventory and effective control of materials and supplies.
• Ensure work-center’s downtime is minimized by ensuring proper equipment set-ups, material is present prior to changeover and report lack of raw materials, tooling and / or equipment issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Oversee the assistants and helpers/packers and provide clear and precise instructions to them.
• All duties outlined in the assistant job description.
• All other duties as assigned.

Position Description

Immediate Supervisor: Manufacturing Manager

Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Position Purpose: Operates Pouch 1 & 2 and produces bubble pouches

Essential Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 2+ Years in a Manufacturing environment / machine operator experience preferred.
• Intermediate math skills and English written communication skills necessary.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time required
• Ability to work in space limited work area on continuous basis.
• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis
• General computer knowledge and experience handling paperwork
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role following recommended practices, with an emphasis on safety and injury prevention
• Inventory experience preferred
