Job summary

BlueScope is seeking a Machine Operator to operate and maintain machines that shape materials into components for our community. Whether you're an experienced operator or eager to learn, we welcome candidates of all backgrounds to bring their unique strengths to our team.

Responsibilities

• Operate and shape: Use machines to cut, punch, bend, weld, or shape materials into specified components to meet current demands.
• Prepare and set up: Set up machines and confirm specifications using drawings, blueprints, tablets, or other tools.
• Lift and position materials: Safely use lifting devices, such as cranes and forklifts, to position materials or parts as needed.
• Ensure quality: Utilize measuring tools and processes to perform inspections before, during, and after production, ensuring materials meet exact specifications.
• Contribute to improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
• Maintain and organize: Keep track of material inventory, perform machine maintenance, and support housekeeping and organizational standards, such as 5‑S practices.
