Job summary

Central Power Systems & Services is seeking a motivated, mechanically inclined Machine Operator to join our growing Generator Manufacturing Division in Platte City, MO. You will learn to operate press brake equipment and develop a foundation in precision metal fabrication and quality standards.

As you gain experience, opportunities to advance into Salvagnini automated sheet metal fabrication equipment and other advanced manufacturing machinery will open.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new machinery and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and understand basic measurements, shop drawings, and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Learn to set up and operate press brake equipment to bend and form metal components according to shop drawings and production specifications.
• Develop the skills necessary to advance into operating Salvagnini automated sheet metal fabrication equipment and other manufacturing machinery.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and production instructions.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and ensure accuracy.
• Monitor machine operations to maintain production efficiency, quality, and consistency.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards.
• Perform machine adjustments and basic troubleshooting as needed.
• Identify and communicate equipment malfunctions, material defects, and quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Minimize material waste through proper machine operation, material handling, and efficient production practices.
• Perform routine equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, and general machine upkeep.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures, equipment operating guidelines, and quality standards.
• Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to meet production goals.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn new equipment, cross-train, and take on additional responsibilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
