Job summary

Timken is hiring an organized PTA Operator with welding experience to join our Houston manufacturing team. You will set up, troubleshoot, and maintain welding processes, read drawings, and ensure parts meet specifications.

The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering and Operations, contribute to continuous improvement, and be able to take on additional duties including occasional overtime to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of welding procedures.
• Intermediate to advanced math skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts.
• Gain fundamental knowledge of process equipment.
• Organizational skills with attention to details.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Set up and complete process steps independently.
• Troubleshoot and correct parameters as required.
• Troubleshoot equipment inconsistencies as required.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Read drawings to identify cladding dimensions and thicknesses.
• Verify thickness with basic dimensional measuring tools.
• Create and maintain parameter and work order records of work performed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Report any safety or quality issues to your supervisor.
• Be adaptable to take on additional duties as needed, including occasional overtime.
