Job summary

ALPLA in Vandalia, IA is seeking a Machine Operator I to handle end-to-end line duties from production to packaging. You will start and stop the machine, perform parison controls, and make small process adjustments to sustain quality and efficiency.

The role requires working with material control and routine quality checks throughout shifts. Applicants should have a high school diploma and about 1.5 years of ALPLA experience or 3 years relevant work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1.5 years' experience as ALPLA Machine Operator I or at least 3 years equivalent outside experience preferred.
• Demonstrated mechanical ability.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Overall line responsibility from production to packaging.
• Start / Stop the machine.
• Performs parison controls.
• Makes minor process adjustments to ensure good quality and efficiency.
• Monitors material control (weight distribution, regrind levels, tail lengths, etc.).
• Performs regular quality control and visual checks.
• Prepares machine for mold change.
• Changes speed and cycle times.
• Troubleshoots.
