Job summary

TreeHouse Foods is hiring a Machine Operator II for our NC Faison facility on the 1st shift (6:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday–Friday with some Sundays). You will set up, operate, and maintain production machinery to ensure high quality output, while following food safety and quality protocols.

The role requires reading/writing English, forklift certification, and ability to work in an unconditioned plant environment. We value reliability, teamwork, and a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Forklift certification required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift in a factory setting with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain the machine.
• Ensure that boxes are correct and properly glued.
• Complete paperwork for QA/production Supervisor.
• Ensure machine guards and safety switches are functioning.
• Start machine and adjust to meet production schedule.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform basic maintenance with common tools.
• Keep machinery and work area clean and organized.
• Fill out the daily CIL checklist for cleaning and lubrication.
• Assemble/disassemble equipment safely.
• Address downtime events using 6W2H to find root cause with maintenance.
• Fill defect tags when parts are replaced.

Job Description

About the Role

The Machine Operator ensure the set-up, operate, and maintain machinery. They are responsible for ensuring the machine produces high quality products, runs smoothly and at capacity, and is properly maintained. Responsible for reporting any food safety or quality issues to Supervisor as well as the following specific duties involving food safety and quality.

• Ensure that boxes are correct for the product being run.
• Ensure that the boxes are properly glued.
• Properly fill out all paperwork required by LCT team, QA/production Supervisor.
• Ensure that all machine guards and all safety switches are in place and in working order on the box machine.
• Start Machine and adjust machinery when necessary to improve performance.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform maintenance with proper tools such as Wrenches, T-shaped and L-shaped wrenches, and channel locks to loosen bolts during set up and adjustments.
• Clean Machinery and maintain cleanliness in work area.
• CIL checklist must be filled out daily at the start and end of the shift, this shows verification of the cleaning and lubrication process.
• Ability to assemble and disassemble assigned equipment in a safe manner.
• Set up machine to specific size box needed based on production schedule.
• During shift make sure machine is clean/scrape off any excessive glue on machine.
• Comply with all safety and health regulations.
• Downtime forms must be completed, during any downtime event/If more than 5 events occur or downtime event of 60 minutes a 6W2H must be performed between operator and maintenance to find the root cause of the issue.
• If any parts replaced, you must fill out a defect tag to show that the machine was repaired and working in normal operations.

Important Details

This is a full-time permanent role on 1st shift, which operates from 6am--3:30pm Monday through Friday with some Sundays.

• Standing and Walking 100%, Use of both hands 100%, bending, lifting, and squatting Factory setting requiring the use of PPE.
