Job summary

Vestcom is seeking a Night Shift Label Operator to run label machinery on a 7 PM–6:30 AM schedule, Sun–Tue, 6:30 PM–3:00 AM Wed. The role pays $20/hour plus a shift differential and requires standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and basic material handling.

Responsibilities include operating label equipment, minimizing waste, logging materials in the ERP system, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1–2 years of related experience and/or training.
• Strong mechanical skills to analyze and operate label machine equipment.
• Experience in laser printing/digital imaging is preferred.
• Color vision and close vision are required.

Responsibilities

• Operates label machines properly and efficiently to meet production deadlines as per the daily job schedule.
• Minimizes waste or misuse of raw materials.
• Communicates label production issues with the Production Supervisor or Facility Manager.
• Performs distribution functions as needed.
• Keeps accurate logs of raw materials used, timestamps cartons for FIFO inventory and QC.
• Uses ERP system to log time and materials for each job.
• Maintains dies; keeps work area clean, organized, and safe, wearing PPE.
• May work overtime or on another shift as needed.
• Comply with company safety and drug-free workplace policies.

Job Description

This role will be onFront End Night Shift, 7PM-6:30AM SUN-TUES 6:30PM-3:00AM WED.

The hourly rate for this role is $20/hr with a shift differential

• Operates the label machines properly and efficiently in order to meet production deadlines according to the daily job schedule.
• Minimize waste or misuse of raw materials.
• Communicates label production issues with the Production Supervisor and/or Facility Manager
• Performs distribution functions as needed.
• Keeps accurate log of raw materials used in the production of labels. Logs date and ID number of cartons of product to maintain a FIFO inventory and to identify any QC problems with raw materials.
• Uses ERP system to log time and materials for each job.
• Responsible for maintenance of all dies.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area, uses required PPE, and follows all safety rules and procedures.
• May be required to work overtime or on another shift as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
• Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
• Compliance with applicable Company policies concerning maintaining a drug free workplace is required.
• Compliance with all Company policies is required including all safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Stands 2/3 to full time on the shift daily.
• Uses hands and fingers to handle, and feel 1/3 to 2/3 of the shift daily.
• Reaches with hands and arms 1/3 to 2/3 of the shift daily.
• Lifts 50 pounds 1/3 to 2/3 of the shift daily.
• Requires close vision (clear vision at 20-inches or less).
• Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Must have one to two years related experience and/or training.
• Must have strong mechanical skills to analyze and operate label machine equipment.
• Ability to embody and reflect Vestcom’s core values:
• Must have experience in laser printing/digital imaging.
