Overview

Graham Packaging Company is looking for a Machine Operator I based in Muskogee, OK. This opening is for 3rd Shift, which operates during the hours of 11pm - 7:30am, Mon- Fri.

The Operator is responsible for operating plastic blow molding machines (including in-line equipment), making necessary adjustments or minor repairs to ensure production of containers is safe, efficient, and of high quality. The primary duties include:

  • Understanding, following, and enforcing all safety, health, quality GMP, and company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
  • Participating in continuous quality improvement projects and other activities as assigned.
  • Operating a group of plastic blow molding machines and auxiliary equipment to produce containers safely and with high quality.
  • Performing mold, insert, and color changes on the line.
  • Performing basic processing of injection and/or blow molding machines to improve efficiency and reduce scrap.
  • Assisting in tasks of utility positions during slow periods or as needed.
  • Monitoring resin, dryer, material handling, and color systems for proper processing conditions.
  • Conducting quality checks on products based on established standards.
  • Assisting with mechanical repairs and performing preventative maintenance.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area.
  • Completing and filing documentation promptly and accurately.
  • Communicating with supervisors to support production objectives.
  • Verifying material usage standards.
  • Performing troubleshooting and line programming; notifying supervisors of major issues.
  • Managing regrind, purge, and scrap to minimize waste within customer specifications.
  • Labeling regrind and chunks properly.
  • Communicating processing information to the incoming shift and assisting colleagues.
  • Training new Operators.
  • Travel may be required.
