Job summary

Ditch Witch is hiring a Machine Operator I to operate one or more production machines in Plant 3. Nightshift opens at $20.89/hour to start, with a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and more. You will set up, adjust, and operate equipment, document production data, and read blueprints as needed.

Ideal candidates have basic experience with hand tools, reading and math, and may have welding or machining training. Work is in manufacturing plant conditions with typical hazards.

Qualifications

• Basic experience with mechanical repair and assembly tools.
• Reading and math skills to interpret instructions and calculate sums.
• Experience or training in welding, machining, or metalworking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate production equipment while monitoring performance and sequencing.
• Set up fixtures, mount parts, and perform mechanical assembly using hand and air tools.
• Use a computer to check location, inventory, and routing of parts and maintain production records.
• Read information from blueprints.

Machine Operator I at Ditch Witch:

This employee will operate one or more of various production machines.

Machines operated may include: lathes, mills, drills, saws, automatic welders, benders, punches, shears, flame cuts, hi-definition & plasma, laser, heat treat, shot blast, etc.

What Will You Do?

• Set up, adjust, and operate production equipmentwhilemonitoring the performance of the machine and carrying out operations in propersequence.
• Set up fixtures, mount parts in fixtures/components, and perform mechanical assemblyusing hand and air tools (wrenches, torque wrenches,impact wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, etc.).
• Use a computer tocheck the location, inventory, and routing of partsand maintain production records.
• May read information from blueprints.

What Will You Need?

• Be familiar with and have basic experience using mechanical repair and assembly tools includingwrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
• Have appropriate reading, clerical, and basic math skillsincluding understandingwritten instructions, maintainingproduction records,and calculatingsums, differences,and fractions.
• Experience or training inwelding,machining, mechanical repair, or metal working machinery operation would be beneficial.

Work Environment

Manufacturing plant conditions (indoors, with variable temperature and humidity, noise, and dirt). Physical hazards such as powered vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, moving machinery, electrical arc-welding equipment, andmaterials handling. Workwith hazardous materials, such ascoolant, solvents, oils, grease, &pressurized gases.
