Job summary

TOPPAN Packaging Americas in Huntley, IL is seeking a Machine Operator for the 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM). Starting pay is $24.89 per hour with a $.50 shift differential.

Under general supervision, you will set up thermoforming machines and operate per job specifications to produce quality parts. Responsibilities include setting up machines, mounting dies, loading materials, performing troubleshooting, quality checks, routine maintenance, completing tickets, and coordinating with packers.

Qualifications

• 6 months machine operator experience.
• Ability to read, write, and perform math skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Position: Machine Operator (2nd Shift)

Location: 11287 Kiley Drive, Huntley, IL

Hours: 2nd Shift - 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Rate: $24.89/Hour Plus Shift differential $.50

Summary: With general supervision, sets-up the proper tooling needed in the thermoforming machines and operates the machines per job specifications.

What you’ll be doing:

• Sets up thermoforming machines for operation per job specifications.
• Mounts dies and molds and loads rolls of raw materials into the machine.
• Engages machine to produce thermoformed parts and maintains continuous operation.
• Performs troubleshooting and quality control checks.
• Performs routine maintenance on thermoforming machines.
• Completes required job tickets.
• Works with Packer/Inspectors to resolve any quality issues as needed.
• Directs Packers/Inspectors to work in other areas when machine is down for troubleshooting or set up.
• Maintains a safe, clean and organized work area.
• Performs other work duties or functions as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to continuously lift, reach, stand, and walk throughout the day.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Level One: Uses and reads calipers.
• Self-starting, willing to learn, does other tasks as required.
• Knowledge about basic math and English skills to complete paperwork.
• Has good communication skills and is an active team member.
• Maintains a 97% attendance record.
• Keeps accurate daily box counts.
• Runs the specified number of parts on each job.
• Maintains a good working relationship with inspectors and operators.
• Knows and verifies specification requirements of each part.
• Maintains a safe, organized, and clean work area.
• Assists in setting up machines as needed.

This is an onsite position located out of our Huntley, IL Facility

We’d love to hear from you if:

• You have experience as a skilled manufacturing operator 6 months of machine operator experience.
• Ability to read, write, and perform math skills.
• Understanding of manufacturing and quality control.
• High school Diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months set up operator experience.
• 1-year previous production line experience preferred.
• Ability to continuously lift, reach, stand, and walk throughout the day.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good manual dexterity and agility.
• Good leadership skills.
