Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. in Thornton, CA seeks a Machine Operator I to set up and run a production machine following established procedures. You will ensure material readiness and maintain a clean, safe work area, while producing according to quality standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Completes work area set up.
  • Operates and feeds the machine safely and efficiently per procedures.
  • Stacks finished products and may label, band, or cover components as needed.
  • Keeps work area safe, clean, organized and equipment safe to operate.
  • Completes pre-shift inspection checklists and reports issues.
  • Maintains production records as required.
  • Inspects materials and finished products for quality compliance.
  • Follows safety, quality procedures and participates in programs/meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Machine Operator I is responsible for the set up and operation of a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Secures and maintains material and supplies required on the operation.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Completes work area set up.
  • Operates and feeds the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.
  • Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finished product.
  • Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
  • Completes pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Maintains production records as required.
  • Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling is required.
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
Compensation & Benefit Information

Hourly/Salary Pay Range: $18.00 - $20.00 hourly. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by experience and other job-related factors.

Bonus/Incentive Pay: Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
