Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is hiring for a full-time production operator in a food manufacturing setting in Erie, PA. The role starts at $19 per hour on the 1st shift, with opportunities for advancement and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities include setting up equipment, controlling line speeds and batch formulas, performing quality checks, and completing required paperwork using SAP and SOPs. Physical labor and overtime may be required as part of a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, 0–1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to stand and walk on concrete floors in a fast-paced production environment.
• Flexible for overtime, weekends and alternative shifts as needed.

• Set up and pre-run equipment to ensure proper production startup.
• Control line speeds, batch formula, production rates; start/stop equipment and monitor product appearance and safety.
• Complete various quality checks.
• Complete paperwork (e.g., downtime, HACCP) using SAP and SOPs.

What You Will Do:

• Setting up and pre-running equipment to ensure proper production startup.
• Controlling line speeds, batch formula, production rates, starting and stopping equipment, and overall product appearance and safety.
• Completing various quality checks.
• Completing all required paperwork (for example: downtime, HACCP, etc., utilizing SAP, SOPs, Safety operation, training, as appropriate).

What You Will Bring:

• High school diploma or GED with 0--1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Comfortable with physical labor in a fast-paced, production environment.
• Be able to stand and walk on concrete floors for long periods and work in varying temperature conditions.
• Flexible working overtime, weekends, and alternative shifts as needed.
