POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Machine Operator – Pre-Assembly to support the preparation and assembly of components used in the manufacturing process. In this role, you will be responsible for operating pre-assembly equipment, preparing parts and subassemblies, and ensuring materials meet quality and production requirements before final assembly. This position plays a critical role in maintaining production flow, product quality, and operational efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Machine Operation: Operate pre-assembly machinery and equipment to prepare components and subassemblies according to work instructions and production specifications.
  • Material Preparation: Gather, stage, and prepare parts, hardware, and materials required for pre-assembly operations to support production schedules.
  • Assembly Support: Perform basic mechanical pre-assembly tasks such as fastening, fitting, or aligning components to create subassemblies for downstream production.
  • Quality Verification: Inspect components and subassemblies for accuracy, proper fit, and quality standards; identify and report defects or inconsistencies.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Record production output, quality checks, and equipment performance using production logs or digital systems as required.
  • Equipment Monitoring: Monitor machine performance during operation and notify maintenance or supervision of any malfunctions, abnormalities, or safety concerns.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all company safety procedures, operating guidelines, and PPE requirements while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Housekeeping & Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring tools, materials, and equipment are properly stored and accessible.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, or machine operation experience preferred
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, basic drawings, or production documentation
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
  • Basic computer skills for production tracking or documentation
Physical Requirements
  • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds continuously throughout the workday.
  • Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, push and pull.
  • Perform grasping, handling, and repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Maintain manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate tools, equipment, machinery controls, and computer devices as required.
  • Safely operate hand tools, light power tools, and rotating equipment as required by the position.
  • Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the position.
  • Ability to climb and descend ladders, stairs, platforms, and work areas safely as required by the position
Work Environment
  • The need to work safely around manufacturing processes and equipment while following all applicable safety policies and procedure
  • Varying temperatures, including temperatures occasionally above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
  • Moderate to high levels of noise in designated production areas.
  • Outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, rain, and other environmental elements, as business needs require.
  • Welding operations, including exposure to welding arcs, sparks, heat, and airborne particulates in designated production areas.
