Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator I to set up and operate a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.

You will secure and maintain materials and supplies required on the operation, perform pre-shift inspections, and ensure the work area is safe, clean and organized.

Duties also include maintaining production records, verifying material and finished product quality, and participating in safety, CI, and other programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the production machine in accordance with established procedures.
• Feed the machine safely and efficiently according to procedures.
• Stack completed products and, if required, cover, label and band components/finished product.
• Keep the work area safe, clean and organized; ensure equipment is safe to operate.
• Complete pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklists and report problems.
• Maintain clean and orderly work environment and production records.
• Check materials and finished products for compliance with standards.
• Follow established safety and quality procedures and participate in safety, CI and other programs.

Job Summary

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Completes work area set up.
• Operates and feeds the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.
• Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finished product.
• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintains production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
• Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
