Job summary

UFP Industries in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Machine Operator I to set up and operate production machinery following established procedures. The role includes securing materials and supplies, maintaining a clean work area, and recording production data to ensure quality and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months of manufacturing or assembly experience, basic math skills, and a high school diploma or GED (preferred). Must be 18+ and comply with safety standards.

Qualifications

  • HB high school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate production equipment per procedures.
  • Feed machine safely and efficiently; monitor and adjust as needed.
  • Stack, label, and band components or finished products as required.
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and safe; report issues.
  • Complete pre-shift inspections and maintenance checks.
  • Record production data and ensure materials meet standards.
  • Follow safety and quality rules; participate in programs and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Machine Operator I is responsible for the set up and operation of a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Secures and maintains material and supplies required on the operation.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities
  • Completes work area set up.
  • Operates and feeds the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.
  • Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finished product.
  • Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
  • Completes pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Maintains production records as required.
  • Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling is required.
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred
  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
