Job summary

Westlake is hiring a Machine Operator I to support production. Under supervision, you will perform water treatment, tile handling, strapping pallets, kiln exit checks, and packaging while maintaining clean equipment and work areas.

Applicants should have basic math skills, the ability to follow simple instructions, and 6 months to 1 year of tile manufacturing experience. Forklift experience is desired; lifting up to 50 pounds is required.

Qualifications

• Basic mathematical skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Read, comprehend and follow simple instructions.
• 6 months to 1 year of color or tile manufacturing experience required.
• Forklift driving experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Water treatment: treat process water and monitor pH; log discharges.
• Sorter: inspect tile on the dry side; oversee sealer area cleanliness.
• Strapping machine: operate to secure pallets of tile.
• Kiln exit operator: perform quality checks on tile and packaging.
• Clean equipment and work areas daily; report problems to supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Check PH before discharging to city. Follow SOP. Daily log all discharge to city with a supervisor’s approval.Sorter: Inspect the tile on the dry side and is responsible for the sealer area including cleaning the sealer boothStrapping Machine: Responsible for running strapping machine to secure pallets of tileKiln Exit Operator: Responsible for quality checks of the tile and packaging of the tileClean equipment and the areas daily.
