Job summary

Senior Flexonics Pathway, part of Senior plc, is seeking an operator to fabricate, sandblast, forklift, and perform carpentry tasks in a manufacturing setting in Lewiston, Maine. The role involves loading trucks, prepping surfaces, and packaging equipment for shipment.

You will review schedules and blueprints, manage inventory, and follow safety rules to maintain safe, efficient operations. A high school diploma or GED is required, with preference for technical training and manufacturing

Qualifications

• Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
• Able to read and interpret drawings and follow work instructions.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; use basic measuring tools.
• Must have sufficient visual acuity to operate machines and visually inspect parts produced.
• Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Review schedule, prioritize daily work, review specifications and blueprints to determine machine and material requirements.
• Review inventory against anticipated workload to maintain adequate stocking levels; report defects.
• Design and implement work methods to increase productivity and throughput.
• Follow all safety rules regarding machine operation and guarding.
• Operate equipment and move materials around facility with forklift and other equipment.
• Pack and prepare equipment for shipment and handle crates/skids as needed.

Job Description

Operate, fabricating machines, sandblasting equipment, forklifts, and carpentry tools. Responsibilities include moving equipment/loading trucks with forklift, sandblasting or cleaning a variety of surfaces for the painting process, and packaging equipment for shipment within boxes and crates.

• Review schedule, prioritize daily work, review specifications and blueprints to determine machine and material requirements.
• Review inventory against anticipated work load to maintain adequate stocking levels. Detects and reports defective materials to management.
• Design and implement work methods and procedures to increase productivity and improve throughput.
• Follow all safety rules regarding machine operation and proper guarding.
• Organize and maintain work area to achieve safe, clean and efficient operations.
• Adheresto all safety rules and uses proper personal protective equipment.
• Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Operate equipment andindustrial truck to move materials around facility.
• Work with lumber/crates/skids packaging products appropriately to prevent damage in transit.
• Operate air powered abrasive blasting equipment to remove mill scale, rust and other foreign matter to prepare for the paint process.
• Performs other duties and assignments as directed by management.

Qualifications

• Required to stand, walk and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; to talk and hear, to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch.
• Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds – all with the assistance of a variety of lifting devices/equipment.
• Must have excellent organizational and communication skills with ability to work well with external and internal customers.
• High school diploma or GED required. Technical school graduate preferred.
• Related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
