Job summary

Wieland North America, Inc. is hiring a Machine Operator for the Verona, VA facility. You will read blueprints, program and operate CNC machines, and set up tooling to produce parts from various materials.

The role requires manual dexterity and a focus on safety and quality, with weekend shifts Fri-Sun, 6:00am-6:00pm, and bi-weekly pay. Starting weekend pay ranges from $26.50 to $29.50 per hour, with higher compensation based on experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 3–5 years’ experience in an industrial environment preferred.
• Arm/hand steadiness and manual dexterity required.
• Ability to work in various physical positions.
• Good vision and hand-eye coordination required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to plan machining.
• Program equipment by entering instructions and adjusting tools.
• Set up equipment and maintain tooling and offsets.
• Monitor quality by taking measurements and troubleshooting.
• Maintain records of operations and maintenance as required.

Wieland is hiring a Machine Operator. The Machine Operator will be responsible for working from shop drawing, procedures and/or other written, verbal, or electronic instruction, perform a wide variety of operations. Produces parts by programming, setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. Our facility is located at 45 Sutton Road | Verona, VA | 24482.

Weekend Shift Starting Pay: $26.50-$29.50/hour with compensation adjusted based on experience and qualifications.

Weekend Shift Schedule: Friday - Sunday | 6:00am-6:00pm

Pay Schedule: Bi-weekly

Responsibilities

Machine Operator Responsibilities:

• Plans machining by reading, interpreting, understanding, and working from blueprints, schematics, bills of material, routing sheets, labor summaries and other written, electronic, or verbal instruction.
• Work with a variety of ferrous, non-ferrous and alloy materials.
• Programs equipment by entering instructions, setting tool registers, offsets, and compensation.
• Sets up equipment by installing and adjusting tools, attachments, heads, etc.
• Maintains specifications by observing, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting, adjust and/or programming controls.
• Maintains equipment by completing operator maintenance requirements, following manufacturers and/or company instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions and/or calling for repairs.
• Maintain required records in either written or electronic form.

Machine Operator Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
• 3 to 5 years’ previous experience in an industrial environment preferred.
• Arm/hand steadiness
• Manual Dexterity
• Perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, bending, and reaching
• Close vision, distant vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and hand-eye coordination.
