Job summary

Barnes Aerospace West Chester MRO is seeking a Machine Operator to set-up and operate CNC Grinder, EDM or Laser machines, ensuring parts conform to specifications and requirements in a fast-paced environment.

This safety-sensitive role requires two years of production experience and a high school diploma. You will measure parts with calipers, micrometers, and gauges, document quality, and work weekend night shifts (Fri–Sun 6pm–6am) while complying with FAA and DOT drug testing rules.

Qualifications

• Must have two years of experience in a production/shop position.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform basic math and read/understand work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate CNC Grinder, EDM or Laser machines to ensure parts conform to specification and requirements.
• Monitor parts dimensions using jigs, fixtures, gauges, calipers, micrometers and height gauges to assure conformity.
• Complete paperwork documenting the quality of parts completed.
• Check paperwork to determine required assembly and any special options.
• Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit and fastening parts and sub-assemblies per customer order.
• Use precision measuring tools to check parts for correct fit and dimensions.
• Build electrodes for Fast Hole EDM.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Primary duties are to set-up and operate CNC Grinder, EDM or Laser machines ensuring parts conform to specification and requirements.
• Monitor parts dimensions using jigs, fixtures, gages, calipers, micrometers and height gages to assure conformity of parts.
• Complete paperwork required to document the quality of parts completed.
• Checks paperwork to determine required assembly and any special options.
• Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and sub-assemblies, per customer order.
• Uses precision measuring tools to check parts for correct fit and dimensions.
• Build electrodes for Fast Hole EDM

Qualifications:

• Able to use basic math to add, subtract, multiply or divide and may work with fractions, decimals or percentages
• Able to follow simple instructions or directions
• Able to communicate verbally and in writing as to work requirements, work in progress or work completion
• Ability to meet deadlines.
