Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a RTX company, seeks a Machine Operator 1 to operate production machines including CMMs, polish wheels, grinders and EDMs on the AWW1 shift, with potential training on another shift.

You will read process sheets, deburr parts, measure to blueprints, perform preventive maintenance and document results. A High School Diploma and U.S. citizenship are required; 1+ year operator experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deburr and clean parts.
• Make minor offset changes with oversight.
• Frequently utilize measuring devices and assess product acceptance based on blueprint specifications.
• Perform preventative maintenance and document results.
• Complete Daily Walk Around (DWA) and utilize communication logs.
• Move about the machine line to operate various manufacturing equipment (approx. 90% of the time).
• Transport product/equipment weighing up to 10 pounds.
• Run all equipment in the work loop and produce parts per standard work.

Job Summary

Machine Operator 1’s activities require the ability to operate a variety of production machines. Machines may include: CMM, polish wheel, grinding machines, EDM, etc. This position will require performing routine operations. Hiring for AWW1 shift but may be required to train on a different shift.

What You Will Do

• Read and interpret process sheets.

• Perform preventative maintenance and document results.
• Complete Daily Walk Around (DWA) and utilize communication logs.
• The person in this position will frequently move about the machine line to operate various manufacturing equipment (approximately 90% of the time).
• Transport product and/or equipment weighing up to 10 pounds.
• Must be able to run all equipment in the entire work loop and produce products at rate per standard work.
• May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one’s skills.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of machine operator experience.
• Proficient with use of machine tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Aptitude for mathematics, including ability to read blueprints, read/work from drawings.
