Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking team-oriented candidates for 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) or 3rd shift (11pm-7am) in our manufacturing operations. You will work as part of a team to increase productivity, assist with setup, and ensure quality checks throughout production.

A strong safety focus and 5S discipline are expected. Starting wage is $24.59 per hour with annual bonuses, paid vacation, holidays after 90 days, and access to medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing operations to increase productivity and reduce downtime/waste.
• Assist machine operator with setup, mounting dies, ink adjustments, and quality checks.
• Inspect machine during run and notify operator of nonconforming parts; assist in cleanup.
• Follow safety rules and lock-out/tag-out procedures; maintain 5S standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Availability to work 2nd shift 3pm-11pm or 3rd shift 11pm-7am
• Work as part of a team in support of a manufacturing operation with a goal of increasing productivity; decreasing downtime and waste.
• Receive and follow directions from the Operator and/or Supervisor.
• Assist machine operator to set up orders, mount printing and cutting dies, ink adjustments, and ensure quality checks are performed before, during and upon completion of each order.
• Inspect machine during run and notify Operator when acceptable parts are not being produced.
• Assist in cleanup of equipment.
• Follow all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.
• Maintain shop and shop equipment per 5S Standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Passionate about maintaining a safe work environment.
• Ability to stack parts up to 30 lbs. for a period of up to 12 hours.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends, as needed.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Must be willing to work closely on a day-to-day basis with other production personnel.
• Ability to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Starting salary for position: $24.59 per hour.
• Bonus: Annual - Based upon achievement of plant performance metrics.
• Paid Vacation: 2 weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
• Paid Holidays after 90 day's.
