Join to apply for the Machine Operator - Advanced role at ITW Permatex.

Permatex is currently looking for a Machine Operator - Advanced to join our 2nd shift Manufacturing team. 2nd Shift hours are 3:00pm - 11:00pm, Monday - Friday.

Job Details:

  • Pay rate is $20 - $24 an hour depending on experience, with a $.50/hr shift differential for 2nd shift.

Basic Function:

Operate filling and packaging equipment according to procedures, lead line operations, and assist in training.

Job Duties:

  • Operate and tend machines for filling, labeling, packing, and closing containers.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Perform machine adjustments, set-ups, changeovers, maintenance, cleaning, and operation.
  • Identify problems and troubleshoot with various production equipment.
  • Validate and organize jobs per bill of materials and work instructions.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure proper packaging and identify issues.
  • Assist in training operators and support other teams as needed.
  • Operate forklift; experience required.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively and lead others.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance.
  • Report production, labor, and scrap data accurately and timely.
  • Run manufacturing lines in the absence of a supervisor and support other operator roles as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing lead role, preferably in automotive or packaging industries.
  • Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Computer literate.
  • Forklift certification for all types.
